MANAGEMENT TEAM

The management team involves a combination of renowned scientists and experienced business people. The management team comprises:

Philippe Halfon, M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D., founder acting as President CEO

Dr. Halfon is presently CEO of Alphabio Laboratory (Marseille, France, 10 ME of revenues) in charge of R&D. He is specialized in molecular virology. Dr. Halfon is a worldwide virological expert for HIV and HBV and acts as a peer-reviewer for virological scientific reviews. Dr. Halfon published more than 100 international publication. Dr. Halfon acted previously as a consultant for Roche Diagnostics, France (1997-2000), and for Schering Plough, France (1998–2005). Dr Halfon is the Chief Scientific Officer and CEO of Genoscience until a CSO is recruited. He is responsible for the scientific validation of the technology through completing retrospective studies and submitting results to major scientific reviews over Q4 2001 and Q1 2002, and participating in international conferences. Dr Halfon is also co-author of the VIRADAPT study, which validated the effectiveness of treatment using resistance testing (genotyping). Dr. Halfon was nominated as one of the 30 best managers in France with Alphabio Laboratory.

Philippe Benech, Ph.D, CSO

Is our Chief Scientific Officer. A molecular biologist by training, he was previous Research Director in CNRS and works on gene expression regulation at bot, transcriptional and RNA processing levels, he pioneered the discovery of the Interferon signaling pathway opening the way to interferon and cytokine signaling pathway leading to the antiviral. He founded Genesodi in 2003 to develop with his team, a text mining based software, Predict Search. Predict Search is dedicated to the interpretation of the mass of data generated by gene quantification technologies such as microarrays. The modulations of gene expression together with the identification of gene networks allow evaluating the global biological and physiological impacts of a given molecule. In late 2006, Genesodi and Genoscience have merged, joining their technology to improve screening processes for the discovery of antiviral drug. Philippe spearheaded the development of our Predict Search® software.

Gerard Pepe, Ph.D., founder and CTO.

Dr. Pepe is Director of Research at the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique). He is an expert in radiocrystallogaphy at the Mediterranean University (Marseille, France) and at the Organic Material Laboratory. Dr. Pepe has developed Genmol over a period of approximatively twenty years. He is a specialist in molecular modelling, docking simulation experiments centered on macromolecular systems (polypeptides and nucleic acids).

Jean-Paul Corroy, CFO.

Mr. Corroy graduated from a French leading business school, and has a European accounting and Finance. Before joining Genoscience, Mr. Corroy was Finance Manager Europe (7 subsidiaries) at Alphabio Laboratory. He was responsible for all financial aspects in Europe and all financial information provided to VGI (U.S.A.). He is specialised in European Finance, and has worked with auditors in order to fulfil US accounting principles.

Mohand Sidi Said, Strategic Board’s Director.
